Today I saw this article , which was exciting to me because of an internship I did with Jhpiego  (pronounced ja-PIE-go) earlier this academic year. Jhpiego is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of women and families around the world. My task was to do Skype interviews with community health leaders in Southeast Asia, with the goal of finding out whether and how they had implemented or shared the knowledge they gained at a maternal-newborn health conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh  last May. One thing that my interviewees discussed a lot was their excitement about Kangaroo Mother Care --a simple and remarkably effective method of caring for preterm and low-birthweight infants (it is also beneficial for full term/normal birthweight infants ).
