Yesterday, I presented my capstone. My shaky voice was not too bad, actually. Immediately after that, I (along with 4 friends) met with the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration for Johns Hopkins. To give another presentation. We talked to him about the health effects of climate change and why we think divestment from fossil fuel corporations is a good strategy for collective action to show trillion dollar corporations that leaving a healthy home for our children is more important than their profit margins. Anyway, our group did a great job, and the VP was kind, but it was also frustrating...bureaucrazy! (I actually meant to type bureaucracy, but the typo makes for an apt descriptor, so I will leave it!) Fortunately, I got to drink a beer with two wonderful friends (Katherine and Jessica) afterwards.
