Golden weekend

I've had two "golden" weekends in a row (i.e. both Saturday and Sunday off), and it's been really lovely. Labor and delivery is fun, but it can be stressful too...so it's nice to have the weekend to relax and regroup. Yesterday, we went to the Burlington Farmers' Market  and bought some purple carrots , stopped by a cute garage-turned-coffee shop  for cappuccino and a delicious " coffee toffee bar ," then picked up a baguette at a local bakery  before heading home to read my new  Vanity Fair and watch a few episodes of the extremely addictive  Orange is the New Black  on Netflix before dinner. Today, we hiked Camel's Hump Mountain --Tessie's first real mountain hike!  Tomorrow morning, I'll be back on L&D...I've been getting a bit more confident with my cervical checks, which makes life a lot easier! Vermonters

{classic Vermont flavors: raspberry & maple} We found out that our new place comes with all-you-can-eat raspberries (i.e. we have a raspberry bush in the backyard)! I had always thought "blue raspberry" was something that The Hershey Company made up for Jolly Ranchers, but I've learned that ripe raspberries really are blue!  The other night we decided to go to The Healthy Living Market  (some people call it "wealthy living"). It was pretty amazing. First, the parking lot was full of Priuses. So that was funny. Then, we found an entire section devoted to syrup (partially pictured above). As we were wandering the wondrous aisles of local meats, cheeses, beers, wines, produce, baguettes (baguette options from at least 6 local bakeries!), etc., a familiar song started playing.
