After tearing up at several points throughout the series finale of The Office last night, I woke up this morning for the end of my lifelong (so far) career as a student. I am very sad to be leaving JHSPH...it's a really special place where everyone cares about health and poor people and making the world better...and where you can have a conversation with someone and later find out that he co-founded an organization that won a Nobel Peace Prize...and even though I've reached the end of the MPH program, it's not really "the" end...just "an" end...and a beginning of something else! I have learned so much, and even though a lot of people thought I was crazy to spend more money for more school, I am so glad I took advantage of the opportunity to come to Johns Hopkins for my MPH.
Some fun links:
A nice line from The Office finale: "There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn't that kind of the point?"
Giving Abercrombie & Fitch clothing to homeless people!
The battle of the generations...I finally read the Time article everyone's been talking about.
I went with a couple of friends to make a suggestion to our president, who was in Baltimore today...
