I started packing up our apartment today. The year has gone by so quickly! While I can't say that I'll miss the mice (hopefully we won't have any "pets" aside from Tessie living in our next place), we have made some great memories here.
Hopefully our move will go a little more smoothly this year than it did last year. We were not organized or prepared at all last year...when moving day came, we had a full apartment and a Subaru Forester (the link is a Subaru commercial I love) that was not about to fit everything that we thought it would fit.

Our awesome friend Marie picked us up for a frantic trip to the U-haul place, and we loaded our huge truck in a frenzy (I had tears streaming down my face and "everything's gonna be alright" running through my head the entire time)...once it was loaded, my brother Matthew and his lovely girlfriend Kelly came to see us off (they were both busy moving themselves--as was Marie, actually). Although I thought I wouldn't be able to cry anymore after all the sweating and crying I did while loading the truck, I somehow managed to sob the entire way across Iowa (while driving a U-haul...I drove it the entire way because we couldn't find Chris's wallet/ID when we were leaving for the U-haul place). As my grandpa often says, "If only my eyes weren't so close to my kidneys!"
Odds are strong that I'll cry again this time (it's kind of my M.O.), but hopefully the other aspects of the move will be better! We already have U-Pack boxes arranged and a group of friends planning to come over for a "moving party" next Wednesday.
This whole post was kind of a throwback, but to make it official, I'll share some photos from my last first day of school...since tomorrow is my last last day of school! (Unless anyone can think of another degree I should pursue...perhaps culinary arts?!)
